Is HiStakes gambling?
No. HiStakes is a skill-based competition platform. There's no house and no odds. You play a real opponent head-to-head, and the result depends on how well you play.
You only ever stake on your own performance, never on someone else's game.
Who can join?
You need to be 18 or older and live in South Africa. One account per person. Creating an account is free.
How do I deposit and withdraw?
Deposits go through PayFast and appear in your HiStakes wallet once the payment is confirmed.
To cash out, request a withdrawal from your wallet (minimum R100). Once it's approved, bank transfers usually arrive within 1–3 business days.
What does HiStakes charge?
A service fee comes out of the pot when the match is settled: 10% of the pot for stakes of R20 or more, or R0.50 for stakes under R20. For example, if you each stake R50, the pot is R100 and the winner receives R90. You'll always see the exact amount before you confirm a match.
What if my opponent lies about the result?
Both players have to agree on the result. If they don't, either player can open a dispute and submit evidence such as screenshots of the final score. Our team reviews the evidence and the platform data and makes the final decision. Players who submit false results risk suspension.

EA Sports FC, NBA 2K, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Rocket League and EA Sports UFC, on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, including cross-platform matches. You can request new games from inside the app.
Do I need to download an app?
